from what i heard (from a
basswood body RG550LTD), the Super3 has a tad more midrange than the Distortion model but it still sounds full & reacts well with high gain settings.
what goes well with the Super3 is IMO the Super2. i have this humbucker & it sounds good in the neck as it is a clear humbucker, low-end notes don't mud out.
