Re: SV5470 Wiring Pickups?

alot of the diagrams on ibanezs website are not accurate. its best to figure it out with trial and error. when you take out the original pickups make a note of where the hot and ground go to. the dimarzio website has some good diagrams...

Re: SV5470 Wiring Pickups?

Hi

I also own a SV5470. I on the may to install two dimarzio pup on it.

I have noticed wire colour of genuine ibanez tru duo blast : red, black, white, blue.

On DIMARZIO pup colours are : red, black, white, green.

I just wired DIMARZIO the same, green dimarzio wire instead of blue ibanez wire.

And it doesn't work. (no sound in 1 and 5 selector position).

So i m searching wiring of ibanez tru duo blast, and i don't find ....

not sure if they're the same but something similar is on the Ibanez site; wiring diagrams - 2006 SAS32FM

tD Blue = DiMarzio Red (hot)
tD Red + White = DiMarzio Black + White (coil-tap)
tD Black + Bare = DiMarzio Green + Bare (ground)

Re: SV5470 Wiring Pickups?

Thanks

I've just found SV5470 wiring diagram

It's seems right with your advice :

tD Blue = DiMarzio Red (hot)
tD Red + White = DiMarzio Black + White (coil-tap)
tD Black + Bare = DiMarzio Green + Bare (ground)

Gonna try it !

Re: SV5470 Wiring Pickups?

Hi

So i replaced genuine pickups with di marzio.

I was surprised that Ibanez tru duo blast were real thick compared to dimarzio. (almost twice thick : so many more wirings !)

Once my SV5470 fitted with two dimarzio humbuckers, central single ibanez pickup wasleft in place, and now there's a huge level difference.

I ve checked wiring several times, made several experiments and everything seems ok except that there's such a level difference between dimarzio humbuckers and ibanez single that it's un-usable and have i have to step backward.

I m really puzzled. Is that the reason why on **** there's sometimes S series upgraded with two dimarzio and the remaining ibanez single removed ?
