Time to change pickups

My RG570 still has its original pickus, but now that the middle single coil is broken, I think it's time to change the 3 pickups, humbucker on bridge and neck and single coil middle pickup.

I play mostly metal/hard-rock but also like to play some clean stuff.
I'm after fat sounding, with sustain and lots of gain, but at the same time, if I lower the volume, I would like that to clean the sound, or maybe some bluesy sound.
As for the middle pickup, I though it should give nice clean sound.

I thought about Blue Velvet for single coil. Is this a good pickup?

Any suggestions for the 3 pickups?

Re: Time to change pickups

Breed in the bridge, Evo in the neck and an SDS-1 in the middle. See if you can try a few guitars out though first with different pickups - get a feel for what you like.

Re: Time to change pickups

How about the Tone Zone?
I've done some research at Dimarzio.com and this pickup is qualified as a high output pickup and has 8.5 values for bass and middle.

Is there life beyond Dimarzio?

Does anyone tried the Dimebucker from Seymour Duncan?

Oh god, I tried one of those in a Dimebag DEAN* (edited from strat, heh), horrible thin tone with no mids eww.

Re: Time to change pickups

Tone Zone is an awesome sounding pick up. I've had them on 2 of my guitars and it sounds great. Nice 'Fat' sound! Can't go wrong. The new D-Activator is a really cool sounding pick up as well. I was at a music store the other day and they had one of the new Xiphos guitars on the wall so I grabed it. I was amazed at how good the sound was from these pick up. Def worth a look!

Re: Time to change pickups

I tried a dimebucker, my friend has one, it does lack tone, and does sound too thin and lacking mids. Check out dimarzio d activator. I have a tone zone in mohogany too, it sounds pretty good, its more for like opeth type of metal imo. Its not really high output so the sound doesnt get all mashed together. It is a dark pickup too, but you can always exchange it if u dont like it
