Tone Zone In Fender Fat Strat????

I want to know if anyone has put a TZ in a fat strat yet, and if so how does it sound?? I have previous expierence with TZ's in basswood and mahogony, but not with alder or ash. I wonder if it would sound alright. Or would a EVO sound better? i want a non-muddy crunchy sound for distorted rhythm/lead playing.

i've just ordered a TZ for my alder body RG570custom after reading a lot at harmony central, duncan forums and right here at jemsite eventhough this is my first crapshoot at replacement pickups. i have tried to get answers about this combo and they're mostly positive since a lot of people agree that alder has a brighter sound to it which can go well with the TZ's bass and midrange though i must say i am not fully convinced of this. One other thing that a few people have done is to have it wired series/parallel and get a smoother, less powerful output in the parallel mode which brings out the real beauty of the TZ. I have little regret buying the TZ even when i was confused whether to try the EVO or the JB, but with the experience i've had with my stock Ibanez pups on the alder body was typically weak and very high endy and came to think that the EVO or JB might have the ice-pick syndrome in it for sure, but that being said the JEM7V has an alder body...its all a little confusing but i would advice you judge the sound of your setup very carefully with regard to its current pickup and decide accordingly. I just have my fingers crossed on the TZ as it was too difficult to make a choice.
