Tone Zones ROCK!!!!
I just recently put TZ's in the
bridge position
of my 2 RGT42DXFMs and they kick ass. They're ballsy but clear sounding.I shoot for a good brown sound with a little extra gain, and man the Tone Zone nails it.Tone Zones ROCK!
Now I just need to decide on a neck pup.My top three choices are;Fred,
Air Norton
,or PAF Pro.I need versitility here, good cleans,a nice bluesy sound, good shred sound, and no mud.Any suggestions?

Re: Tone Zones ROCK!!!!
what guitar do you have it in? i found it slightly muddy in my S (mohogany)
I had to ship it out for replacement cause it was sooo noisy, like a bad single coil. Compared to other
high output pickups
how loud do you think it is?

Re: Tone Zones ROCK!!!!
Its in a Ibanez RGT42DXFM.On neck through guitars the tone is more influenced by the maple of the neck because the pups are mounted to same piece of wood, the RGTs are neck-thruogh.The body wings have only a slight influence on the sound of the guitar.

Re: Tone Zones ROCK!!!!
I probably sounds better than mine. but then again I head other people say they dont sound muddy in just mohogany as much as they do sound muddy. I originally bought mine for a RG, but then I discovered the s, and like mohogany and the ZR. but I do have a strat which i think sounds good too and different, those need new pickups too. Im gonna try the
tone zone
again once i get it back and if I dont like i want to try something else, I've decided to try evo or
super distortion

Re: Tone Zones ROCK!!!!
I have a tone-zone /
PAF pro combo
goin on in my RG520. I like it a lot, flipping the switch is like totally switching guitars. The tone zone has this nasally skanky sound to it, and the PAF is this loud ringing roundness.
Highly recommend.

My favorite Dimarzio combo for S series is Super 3 (B) , Super 2 (N). But you have to be careful, this combo is HOT!!!!

Re: Tone Zones ROCK!!!!
Yep, they do ROCK!
I have one in the bridge of my RG421, and I love it.
Gives me that nice meaty, thick tone that I was after.

Re: Tone Zones ROCK!!!!
I prefer the breed
i can never get the tone zone to sound more classic but i can get the breed to sound both classic and heavy as all hell
