URGENT : Ibanez S-470 and Seymour Duncan SH-4 JB

Hi fellas,
i just got a new ibanez s-470 Bk (year 2000 or 2006 model (cort korea make though) i think)

i like it a lot but pups give big hum on high gain (using line 6 podXT Live)

this axe came with infinity pups, Bridge: inf2 HB ,middle : inf51 SC, Neck INF1 HB

Now i do have a seymour duncan hot rodder set (sh-4 JB bridge, sh-2 n jazz neck i think) in my old, broken and very low value axe.

Is it a good idea to replace the pups in the new s-470 with the Seymour Duncan ones i have, as ibanez infinity ones giving me very high noise/humm (could be wiring at my home but Seymour Duncans are i think much more quieter from noise perspective but not sure if they are quieter due to better quality/technology or less output).

i am basically learning and (would be probably rest of my life) and play all types of music from surf to metal.

also is SD SH-4 JB good for metal shredding and harmonics and stuff as havent tried that on the previous axe due to broken neck before i could learn the stuff.

BTW : i am much better in electronics than guitar playing so installing the pups etc are not a big issue.

i just dont wanna switch the pups just for the heck of it. so need an advise for long run if i should swap the pups or keep hangin on with infinity on s470 that i am gonna learn and play on and maybe in a year or so change to other high gain pups like dimebuckers or dimarzio evoloution.

any reply would be appreciated.

Should sound great, just make sure you get Evolutions and NOT Dimebuckers down the line

Evos in Mahogany are a dream...much better than in Alder or Basswood IMO...

It's not the pickups, it's your line6 and your amp that's causing the problem. Check your setup first, your cables and get a decent line conditioner before you start to replace pickups.

It ain't the amp as the humm still there regardless of the amp (on headphones even). it ain't line 6 pod either, as with my other guitar humm is almost negligbile.Could be my cable and its capacitance/resistance not matching enough with infinity pickups and picking up humm and RF.

The humm is more like you get with improperly sheilded stuff.Perhaps something is causing the cable or some other thing to act as an antenna.

Gonna test that out using a test cable no longer than 1 feet and should know.

However i still want advice on if it's worth replacing stock ibanez infinity pickups with Seymour Duncan HotRodder Set that i already have (not that i am immidiately gonna rip open brand new s-470 , but would like to have a sane advise if that is a viable option worth considering for improved overall tone quality as compared to stock pups).

Thx.

I've got a basswood RG with a SH-4 in it. It sounds too trebley to me. I've got a Breed on order to replace it.
Also got an agithus GAX-70 w/a SH-4 that sounds great.
