What ohms value should my controls be with an X2N in the bridge?

My Ibanez RGT42FX only has 250k controls I think, and i've got an X2N which is rated at 510Mv in the bridge. Is this a bad thing and am I losing tone and power from my X2N because of it?

500k or 1 meg is the choice for the X2N.
ditch the 250..

500K is standard, 1 meg will add brightness, if in doubt install a 500K pot.

Whether a 250K pot is good or bad with an X2N is subjective. If you like the way it sounds, than it's good. If you don't then it's bad.

That being said, you will lose output and high end with a 250K pot. I would use at least a 500K with that particular pickup and if I was feeling daring, I wouldn't be shy about using a 1 meg pot to let that sucker rip.

However, I highly doubt the volume put in your guitar is 250K, unless someone replaced it. 500K pots are the standard for humbuckers in almost all guitars.

i have x2ns and i always use 500k. im afraid that the 1 meg would be too bright. up to you though....

I also have an x-2n on a rg550 500k & love it. I have a swirl project with green/black
x-2n that I will be installing 500k. I'm thinking that 1 meg may be too much high end, the 500k scream on there own
