Question

What P/U's in an S

What's up everyone, I just picked up a 2000 S520wnf with stock V1 and V2. I have several Ibby's and everyone I own came with stock P/U's. I have changed them all except for my 3120 because I dig the tone of the tone pro and the PAF. In all of the guitars that came with stock P/U's they all sounded good enough to leave in for a while at least, except for the S520. They sound dull, muddy and flat in both positions. The 3120 is Mahogany and I like the dimarzios, could I assume that the same P/U set would sound just as good in the S? I have many different combos of Dim, SD and EMG's, I can't put EMG's into the S because I don't want to modify the cavity and I don't want to power the P/U's with a floor unit. Anyone have any suggestions? Sorry for the long FIRST Post. Thanks.

I have a Seymour Duncan Custom Shop Crazy 8 in my 1987 540S. It's a great combination. I've left the stock single coils for now.

For that guitar I recomend you a PAF Pro(N)/HS-2(M)/Norton(B) combo

Thanks for the reply. But the 520 is H/H no single. I guess it wouldn't matter though. I have a PAF Pro in one guitar and an air Norton in another. I could actually pull them and try them out first. It's just a pain popping the springs, pulling the bridge, just to get the Pu's out, not to mention setting up the guitar again once everythings back together. Oh never mind, that's actually fun.
