What pup?

I need a pup for the bridge with:
-Bass like a dimarzio blaze
-power like a super distortion (maybe a little less)
-Not TO much treble (balanced ,not like a duncan fullshred)
-Mids must be at least the same or a bit more than the bass
-the pickup could be evo2 but i think it has a bit to much treble

--->IMPORTANT!!!! Guitar: Honduran Mahogany body

Re: What pup?

Tone Zone might be a good choice, but Evo2 sounds like it is what you're looking for.

And no, it definitely won't have too much treble in mahogany.

Re: What pup?

I'd say Tone Zone, Breed or Evo2. All would get you more or less in that ballpark area.

(oh yeah, there's also the Super 3)

Re: What pup?

i don't know what a blaze is like but i'd say it's possible the evo2 may not quite have the bass and mids you're after.

it doesn't totally have it for me in a mahog/maple RGA which is obviously a bit brighter than your guitar but still, thought i'd throw it out there.. i'm going to try replacing with TZ personally

I got a Super 3 and they are awesome for Distortion, but clean not so great. Thats why I put a paf pro in the neck and thats great clean

Breed bridge, all the way. The thought of that in a mahogany body gives me shivers!

Re: What pup?

I'd say a Breed or a Norton/Air Norton in the bridge.

Re: What pup?

The breed probably a great pickup (never tried it) but i think it has a little to much bass (the pickups is for shred btw) tonezone is not my way, allready got it ones in basswood and it wasn't all that good for me. can someone tell me more about the effect of super 3 in mahogany pls?

Re: What pup?

In mahogany, I'd go with the EVO 2.
