Hey,

I was wondering where do you UK players get their dimarzios from? Is there a site that has a wide range. Theres not many good guitar shops near me so I am just curious.

I have got stuff from there before too.
Very good when it comes to DiMarzio stuff.

But in my opinion, you shouldn't go any further than Cottam Guitars UK banner at the top of the page. Max is a great guy to deal with, and can get any DiMarzio in any colour for you. And at a good price too. He can get Seymour's for you to if thats your bag.

Ask a friend in the USA to ship them over, you'll save about 40% on the price and have a much bigger selection of colours. There's a good DiMarzio seller on e-Bay. Have them delivered to a mate, then have your mate ship them to the UK.

+1 for pickupman

I ordered my last pickups from him and he was very helpful indeed. I was having some wiring problems and he found all the proper diagrams and sort out what the problem was!

Re: Where do you UK players get.....

Search Evil Bay for USA shops and buy there. you tend to find the best UK deal on a pickup is around 75 to 80 for a humbucker and 50 to 70 for a single.

In the USA the average dimarzio is around 79 Dollars, which equates to roughly 40 quid depending on the exchange rate. if you're very lucky you'll find a seller who'll mark the package gift, in which case you should have it within a week and only pay a small transport cost, but more often than not you're going to find a seller who will NOT mark gift, and bang, you're waiting at least 30 days and you're going to have to drive to your nearest courier to pick them up paying a small amount of customs and exise. either way, you're Still going to save money on the frankly appaling UK prices.

To be totaly honest, there's next to NO reason you should even contemplate buying a dimarzio or Duncan in the UK, becasue, as it's been said many times, you can buy a kick ass boutique pickup like a bare knuckle for just a few quid more

it's up to you though, this is just my opinion. lol

good luck

Cheers!
Gonna find out some stuff about the Bare Knuckle pickups. The Total Guitar reviews I've read said they we're brilliant but I always had the impression they wern't really suited for ibanez/superstrat guitars.

Re: Where do you UK players get.....

Hey,
To save me making a seperate post I have a question.
Has anyone tried EVOs in a RG2550 or a basswood guitar? They seem quite appealling, I will play a pair but just wondering about people's opinions.

In Basswood I recommend the Evo2/Evo neck with a 500K vol and 250K tone
I have this set in a basswood RG atm...the EVO bridge gives off abit too much upper mid to me ...in basswood anyway

You are WRONG!!! most US dealers won't sell nor ship to other countries because they risk losing their dealer license, specially, when it comes to Dimarzio who really enforces their policies to protect their European dealers. A lot of sellers on eb@y had to change their offshore shipping & sales policy because of penalties and sanctions!!!
