Which single sounds like a paf pro

I'm getting ready to pull the trigger on a new neck position pup for my RG560 (HSS, basswood). If I had a 570 I would just get the paf pro or Mo joe cause I really like Satriani's neck pickup tone. What would you recommend and why (remember single coil space) Also I have a dsonic in the bridge, and play through a mesa RK.

One more Q, what is the website for the aftermarket 5 way switch that reproduces PRS coil tapping... e-switch or something??

Re: Which single sounds like a paf pro

... I've been looking at a Pro Track for my 760 as the pup's specs almost reads like a Paf Pro except it's a single coil rail. I haven't tried one myself but the clips on the DiMarzio site sounds like a Paf Pro with a single coil bite.

And it's a Schaller Megaswitch P-model for the PRS model, the E-model is a more simpler + versatile version of the standard 5-way wiring

Re: Which single sounds like a paf pro

I checked out the pro track... didn't like any of the sound samples. The Dimarzio tech told me to get a Air Norton S, but I have heard negative feedback from some on this site. Anyone else have a suggestion? Maybe I should look into Seymours even though I have a DSonic bridge?

(thanks for the switch reminder!)

a pro track is a paf pro in a single coil, the air norton S is a better pickup though.

Re: Which single sounds like a paf pro

Personally, I think Duncan has the edge on the "S" humbucker vibe and single coils in general. Anyway, on paper, it's probably the Pro Track from Dimarzio.

If you KNOW you'd use a Paf Pro for sure why don't you just grind out a neck position humbucker slot? It really isn't that much work (especially in basswood) and the stock Ibanez pickup rings cover the excess space perfectly. Just a thought.

That sounds like a lot more work and I'm pretty lazy! I went ahead and ordered a Tone Zone S, just got it today. I'll post up next week with comments.

Re: Which single sounds like a paf pro

I have tried these single coils rails (currently I have a Chopper on my S540) but it's never the same thing than a real humbucker, I think I'm gonna route my S540 to H.s.H and put a Paf pro on it
