Who Hear Actually Has a Evo2

Please only reply if you have one and not from others descriptions! How does it differ from a EVO? Any difference when doing prog or fast metal rhythms?

I have one, it sounds pretty good, actually. It's not as bright and shrilly as an Evo, maybe a little more tubular. Kind-of like a cross between an Evo and PAF Joe.

Re: Who Hear Actually Has a Evo2

I have one in the bridge position of my JEM...... have you read the information on the DiMarzio site? It shows and explains the differences. Plus if you do a search on here you'll find quite a few threads too!

Any other input you get here will be based solely on personal opinion......

Re: Who Hear Actually Has a Evo2

The Evo2 has the same tone as the Evo without the crazy upper mid boost. I have 1 in my RG1570 and 1 in my FrankenRG.

I think it can do everything well. it's a very even response pickup without boominess or shrillness. With all Evo`s there is a certain amount of naturaul compression and if you play a wrong note EVERYONE will know imediately

Re: Who Hear Actually Has a Evo2

it depends of the wood, I only have two guitars now: a RGA121 and a RG570.

In the RGA121 Evolution Bridge sounds to me better than Evo2 cos it balances very well with that guitar woods tone (hard maple top over mahogany bottom)

In the RG570 the Evo 2 sounds better, more warm and balanced in the flat basswood tone.

I have one in a Rg 570 for me its a great all around pickup. I play mostly metal old school thrash. Does the Vai/Satch thing well too IMO.

Re: Who Hear Actually Has a Evo2

I have one in my VSBL. I prefer it a 100 times over the regular EVO. It still has all the volume you'll need for lead, but it sounds much better on the bridge/middle notch position on semi-dirty tones.

Re: Who Hear Actually Has a Evo2

I had one i traded to someone here and can say it was better than the original evo in that it was not as cold and had more dynamics
still too hot for me and did not have the versitility i like in a pup

I think someone just posted a similar topic over at dimarzioforum.com. Maybe you should check it out there to see if there's an answer there.
