who "makes" and "designs" the Ibanez V7/

I got my RG470, expecting to immediately change them out for either Dimarzios or Duncans (haven't decided which brand, yet)...and to my surprise, the V7 and V8 pickups in my RG aren't that bad at all...
...while they aren't superb in any stretch, they are better than just about all other stock pickups I've ever heard in a lower-priced axe.

So, who designs and who makes the V7 and V8? If it's all in-house Ibanez, I must say, they've come a long way from the powersounds

The V series stomps all over the Powersounds. They're actually not bad by any stretch of the imagination.

nope, not bad at all for stock pickups....

they're holding me over VERY well until I can get some Dimarzios or Duncans in...

Gonna pop them in my girlfriend's RG (RG170, i think) when I get my upgraded pickups. She's more of a casual player than me, but better than a lot of people that play...so that's cool
I just can't stand Powersounds...she says they fit her fine and all, but i'm gonna do her a favor and swap in the V pups when she's sleeping..haha
