Thanks, I really appreciate any input here.

Hi Jaden thanks for your input. The jack I have is a switchcraft stereo barrel type. There are two connector tips on the base of the jack. So what you are saying is that I just solder to those tips and it will be wired for both stereo (y cable for connecting 2 amps for example) and mono (1 amp using a standard guitar cable). Here's a link of the switch and thank you very much. I thought I had to solder the ground to the metal wire guide plate.... If you could please clear me on this again I really would appreciate it.

Here's the link with a picture of the switch in all angles.

Borrow a multi meter to be sure, but from the look of things I suspect you have all of them wrong. The longest one is probably the ground, the one you have marked as ground is probably the tip (signal) and the one you have as signal is probably the ring, which you don't need to use.

Re: Wiring a stereo output jack mono

the one you have listed as ground is the signal
the one you have marked as "plate" is ground
the smallest lug is for actives/stereo etc.

Re: Wiring a stereo output jack mono

Does anyone know what the poles are on the dimarzio barrel stereo switch?
Jaden, does the same pattern follow?

I've got a small, medium and large on the jack much like what can be seen above but not the big plate for ground, just another slightly longer end with 2 holes in it.
I assumed large was ground but I don't want to guess, another thread on here lists the smallest as input and the medium as "battery" connector.

Sadly the dimarzio site is absolutely f**k all use and even the packaging the barrel input jack came gives utterly no clue as to what pole is used for what function.

Ok I'm a spack, it's not a Dimarzio barrel, it looks like an authentic Ibby barrel input jack.
It's this:

Re: Wiring a stereo output jack mono

COuld anyome confirm the wiring here? I wired my switch craft output JAck like what was recommended in post #8 and #9...and now my out put jack only work when I plug it in half way. Do all I need to do is reverse the wires? I know I have the ground going from the big extended piece to the third lug on the volume pot where its grounded. I have the hot wire from the #2 lug going to what is marked as "ground" in the pic. The first lug on the pot is connected to the 5-way.

Or should I leave the ground wire where it is and try the short tab on the output jack?

Hi, and yeah just switch the wires around, it should work flawlessly.
