Wiring experts!! question about grounding

Hey guys, what can one do when everything is wired right, the cavity is shielded, and you still get "ground buzz"... it goes away as soon as you touch the bridge, or the strings or whatever, quiet as it can be.... but if you lift your hands away from the axe: bzzzzz!

I was wondering even if i could live with "oh well, it works ok when im touching the strigns", that wouldnt be the case with a hardtail or tom, cause i wouldnt have the trem wire to ground...

any "killing the buzz" tips?

thanx!

It sounds like a ground loop where you're the one that's grounding off the signal. I would check your ground wires with a meter to make sure they're all making proper contact. If everything works all your ground connections should make contact to the ground on your output jack.

Look for cold solder joints and just redo them.

Remeber that when grounding the controls in your guitar the best way to avoid ground loop is to solder all the grounds to a central pot or control. This will avoid the problem you have right now. Also, as stated earlier, check to make sure all of your joints are soldered correctly. I have done 1000's of wiring jobs and even I miss one once and a while! Good Luck.

Is there a ground wire going from the back of one of the pots to the trem claw?
