Wiring Problem...crap...

alright guys I need help troubleshooting this.

I wired in some Seymour Duncan Blackouts into my guitar and everything works except this small problem.

roll the volume to 0 and then when the tone is at 10 there is no sound but as you roll the tone back it increases volume.... don't understand how this could've happened.

I've gone over the diagram they provided AND triple checked all my soldering leads with a multimeter to make sure everything is proper.

can't figure it out for the life of me... can anybody help?

this is my wiring diagram: http://www.seymourduncan.com/support...kouts_1v_1t_3w

Re: Wiring Problem...crap...

Well if the Volume is doing pretty much nothing and the tone is controlling volume, maybe you've put them wrong way around AND put the volume (in the tone hole) backwards lol.

Re: Wiring Problem...crap...

volume works fine

when volume is at 0 the tone knob can act as a volume control somehow... but it still affects the tone when the volume is rolled up to 100%

so let's recap again

volume at 100% - tone knob works fine (as far as I can tell)

volume at 0% - tone knob increases volume as you roll it down to 0 from 100%

i would check to make sure i used the right lugs on the pots. sounds like somethin is crossed up there. make sure the ground from the vol to the tone is good too..

well even though the multimeter was working the solder joint might not have been.

after remelted the solder on the ground wires it now works 100% perfect.

thanks guys.

Hello;

I am installing the same pickups with the same diagram into a Schecter guitar. This is my first time doing it and I have a problem.

I do not know what is the bare wire, where does it come from? Do i get to weld it into the pickup connection?

Can you help me please?

Thanks a lot in advance
