Wiring the VLX91 JemVWH

I'm wiring up my Jem project this weekend and am using the VLX91 5 way switch. I know I could use a more simply switch, but I'm not. Anywho, on this diagram, the jumpers that go to the different lugs on the switch, are these each one wire or separate wires? For example on #1 on the image the red wire, does it go to just the one lug or is it hitting all three points? I just can't tell. Any help would be appreciated.

either/or... for wires 1,2,3 you can extend the spliced wire you need to solder on or use some sort of conductor that connects two/three lugs. Wire 4 is usually another [solid/bare] wire that connects the ground to the output lug.

The part you've labelled 1 means the red wire connected to the top 2 lugs, It looks like 3 solder joint because each lug has 2 holes for soldering. So the red wire goes to lug 1 and then lug 1 is connected to lug 2.
Part 2 red wire goes to lug 5 then lug 5 is connected to lug 4.
Part 3 black wire connected to lug 4 then lug 4 connected to lugs 3 and 2.
Part 4 Black wire connected to lug 6 then lug 6 connected to switch casing.
