Wow the duncan CUSTOM is killer in my roadstar II!

I tried a tone zone and loved it but i seen a real good deal on a duncan custom TB-5(ceramic magnet) and bought it to try
it is better than the TZ in that it has that type of tone only a bit crisper, more clarity a lot like the EVH custom wound dimarzio bridge on the EBMM axis guitars
and does the older VH tone better.
it is a keeper man!

duncan custom is my favorite duncan bridge hum. it is really responsive to pick attack and is mean without being all lows. the high end snarls through with the pick attack and has excellent harmonics. i wouldn't necessarily say that its like the tone zone. the tone zone is my favorite dimarzio, but the custom does have the TZs low mids.

yeah the custom reminds me a lot of the custom wound dimarzio EVH
in the EBMM axis guitar actually
it is crisper than a TZ but like you said has those great low mids and chunk
