Seeing how I could never find any useful information online as to how the YM-50 switch actually functions, I’ve decided to tear apart a spare YM-50 switch for my own personal amusement and finally remove any vagueness this switch poses to anyone trying to rewire their guitar.
In the process of documenting my findings, I figured the information that I had collected for my own personal records might prove useful to someone else. I'm currently in the process of creating an in-depth webpage on the YM-50 switch and the different wiring possibilities for the various pickup arrangements.
In the meantime, I’ve thrown up a quick webpage that covers how the YM-50 switch works using just pictures (something that everyone seems to be able to understand). I even have a little flash animation that shows the switch in action.
Hopefully, this will prove useful to someone till I finish my detailed version with schematics.
