YMJ Pups

Anyone play these in an Ibanez. Was thinking about a 560 with YMJ's, what would be a good bridge humbucker for shred/metal/prog?

Re: YMJ Pups

A Tone Zone would be a good choice for a bridge pickup. I actually had an RG670 with a YJM/hs-2/Tone Zone combo and it worked out great.

Re: YMJ Pups

I bought 2 and returned them. they are VERY low output and the humbucker is rediculously louder so it's very unbalanced. i thought i had it wired wrong, but it's the pickup. i wouldn't recommend them with a humbucker. great if your yngwie and have 3 of them with no humbucker though.
check out some of dimarzios other hum-cancelling SCs. they have a lot to choose from.

Re: YMJ Pups

Yeah, the YJM is VERY VERY low output, that's when a compressor comes in handy.

Re: YMJ Pups

Or a boost pedal...

Which is what I use,.. keeps more dynamics etc. than a compressor
