A question for everyone....

What cool/rare guitars do you know for sure that you will end

up with some day when the owners get older or pass away??
For me, it's a 52' Tele (Dec 51 neck on a Jan 52 body)
My grandfather bought it off my uncle after he bought it
new in 1952. Warmest single coils you could ever imagine.
and the neck feels like NOTHING else I have ever felt.

Re: A question for everyone....

Nothing morbid intended at all guys. I'm not sitting
here hoping he dies so I can get it. I do look forward to
owning it some day but I would rather he lives till 100.
He's WAY more important to me that that stupid tele.
Nobody on here knows me enough to assume that
I'm sitting here saying" I can't wait till he dies!!!"
It's total BS!!!! Get a grip... I guess all the people on
the antique road show are morbid because they bring
there inherited stuff on the show...guys,guys, guys....

Re: A question for everyone....

A good friend of mine has a '52 Tele, and it is honestly one of the worst guitars I have ever played. It's a freakin' canoe paddle - anything coming out of Korea today would totally smoke in sound, playability, any way you care to mention. He also has a '54, same thing. That one at least sounds half way decent, but still not great. Neither is in the same state, never mind ballpark as one of Fender's Nocaster reissues. It's a good thing they aren't that accurate!
That said, no one is leaving me anything, I'll be doing the leaving. And I don't care if what I leave is kept and treasured or sold off to pay bills or fund a vacation or what. No guilt from jim

GAS vs Karma

If I were your grandfather I would google "52 tele" all the time I wasn't playing my '52 tele, then I would read this thread and sell it off, just to make sure you would't get it, or donate it to music rising or something...

Re: A question for everyone....

I already inherited a vintage Baldwin organ from my grandparents. Luckily, they gave it to me. They are still alive and kickin'.

Let me tell you something about vintage organs. All analog circuitry + solid wood = a freaking ton. It is by far the heaviest piece of furniture I have ever moved.

WHO THE F%#K DO YOU THINK YOUR TALKIN TO!!! Your a big man behind
your computer.. Here's the full story dumb a$$....
For your info my grandfather has SERIOUS health issues so my uncle
has it. Grandpa can't do anything without help as he is in assisted living (83 yrs old)
That guitar has more sentimental value to me than money value anyway. I wouldn't
be playing today if it wasn't for that tele as my dad (63 yrs old) learned how
to play on that guitar. That's how music stayed in our family from then on.
I have a large family and at least 3 other uncles learned on that guitar. Heck,
one of them even played with Myron Lee back in the 50s/60s on the Dick Clark
show. You are an evil MF for what you said. F%#K you....

*mods if you pull this I understand but ....he deserved it

So you have trouble with reading and with morals...

No amount of weird reasoning can explain your first post away.

Re: A question for everyone....

I'm sorry I started this thread....(sigh)
I didn't mean to show disrespect to my family. I should
have thought about how it would sound asking
such a question. What I should have said was,
"what cool guitars are in your family tree" or
something like that.....
Sorry I offended anyone(eviltwin, you didn't have to
be such an a$$hole the way you responded though...)
Next time just say man that's uncool etc.
