AUGUST RUSH?

Anybody see this film? It's got Robin Williams, Terrence Howard, Keri Russell, and a great story line. It's about an orphaned kid who uses music to contact his parents...I highly recommend it, especially to musicians. The soundtrack is very good Kaki King does some work on it...

I know this should probably be in the master movie thread, but I felt it deserved it's own spot.

dude that movie sucks. BUT, the kid can SHRED the first time he touches a guitar! it's rediculous!

less rediculous, but the guitar playing is badass.

A lot of my musician friends were raving about it, but I couldn't get past the fact that the kid played like that when he first picked up the instrument. I also noticed when he played it, it was detuned, but when another character (won't say who to not spoil) picked it up, it was in standard tuning. It seemed corny to me.

However, I did like Crossroads in spite of Ralph Maccio...

Funny, this was on tv yesterday. I think I saw 5 minutes of it, but I'm not really a fan of movies in general to be honest. 2 hour commitment on Sunday in football season? Not likely

The first half of the movie is the set up so it's a bit draggy but it's pulled together by the end

I loved it. I went from cheering to crying. Fabulous movie.
