Re: Favorite guitar riffs

I'll Just Pick - The Dixie Dregs from "Unsung Heroes"

Steve Morse has hundreds of simply outstanding and astounding licks, but this song is just one after another after another. I don't think I've ever met anyone who can play this song, or even get 20 seconds into it

Siberian Khatru - Yes from "Close to the Edge"

Steve Howe, way back in the early days of prog; double stops galore.

Four on Six - Wes Montgomery from "The Incredible Guitar of Wes Montgomery"

When this gets in my head, it's there for WEEKS. The father of modern jazz guitar just blows one out that everyone can dig; a very accesible groove

too many other to list

Re: Favorite guitar riffs

Killswitch engage - Fixation on the darkness
Limp Bizkit - My generation
Oceansize - One out of none
Silverchair - No association
John 5 - Feisty Cadavers

Some epic riffs of doom here.

I felt 5 choices were enough of an insight.

Re: Favorite guitar riffs

Yngwie's 'Anguish and Fear'
Kansas' 'Carry On' riff and solo breaks are awesome.
Pantera 'Unbroken' and 'Cemetery Gates' are great as well.
Megadeth 'Holy Wars'
Dream Theater, 'Pull me Under' ridiculously recognizable.
Symphony X: Damned near anything, but specificially, 'Up from the Ashes', 'Damnation Game', and 'In the Dragon's Den'

I could go on for a long time with this thread...
