For each satanist that takes it too seriously, there must be like thousands of christians that take it too seriously. And I think (no offense intended) christians have killed more people than satanists over the centuries.
It's all about tolerance!!!
NO doubt about that.
With tolerance and respect for the others you could even worship ............Lady Gaga!
All we worship is Lady ga ga
Lady goo goo
Lady ga ga
All we worship is Lady ga ga
Lady blah blah
Lady what's new?
Lady, someone still loves you!

Blackened Death Metal. What is the appeal? Are the members of Black Metal Bands real music fans or is it thier way of praising thier dark lord? Do fans of this type of music like it just because of the subject matter? Don't they get tired of seeing only the bad things in life? Now Nergal of Behemoth gets his own ESP signature guitar? Maybe my mind set is just too postive and optimistic to gravitate towards death metal.
Death Metal was originally meant as a way to rebel against society, because most people didn't 'get' it and still don't. Bands like Cannibal Corpse do what they do as a rebellion against the mainstream (or something like that). If people don't understand the screaming and shocking lyrics, then they have done their job. Black metal basically takes this one step further. As for Blackened Death Metal in Particular, I really just consider Death metal because most of those bands just relate to the vocals. Eg early Children of bodom and behemoth.

That's more or less a documentary that says that black metal is almost more about an ideology than music. People aren't supposed to like Death/Black metal.
And to those who think that death metal isn't musical, and has choppy and incoherent riffs, listen to bands such as Himsa, In Flames, or even Dethklok. Becoming the Archetype and Arch Enemy also fit this category well. Even Black Dahlia Murder has real melodic solos. Also, for a lot of bands, the music is within the percussive of all the instruments. African drumming would be considered music, but blast beats and chugging breakdowns aren't? hmm...

Re: I may not make fans with this one
hello
i gues the people dont understand it because they dont know it.if you can take the time to listen very well and open minded you dont call it stupid or dumb.then you see good musicians who take the boundaries of music over the edge.you can like it or not.but then you have a idea what we speak of.i know it isnt easy listening to polyritme and complex riffs and diffecult chords at high speed.
cynic-forus
atheist-piece of time
nocturnus-the key
emperrr-9th ...
there is also simple metal wich isnt that high quality and original.and stupid people are everywere.so you cant judge a musical scene on a accident happens 20 years ago.it dont matter if its death/blackmetal or rap music, soul music(marvin ***)there are idiots everywere.in music scene/on the street/everywere.

Look it up you will see....
Exactly right dude!!! The whole concept of a horned devill and a fiery pit is a very archaic, medieval concept. Do people really still believe that today? I guess so.

Re: I may not make fans with this one
It doesn't matter where you go in musical history there will always be stuff like the blue note, the diabola in musica or 240bpm locrian riffs and there will always be people moaning about it. There will always be art for the sake of art, shocking stuff purely for its shock value and people deliberately carving their own niche just to be different. Rebellion is a part of rock&roll and Händel was probably a rocker too. Don't like it? Go listen to Miley Cyrus.

Re: I may not make fans with this one
This genre does really suck.
I think there's literally only about 2 'black meta' (or whatever variant of the genre) bands I can listen to. One is early Demoniac (first 2 albums). And them I can barely listen to, I really do not get the genre at all.

Re: I may not make fans with this one
I am not a fan of it at all, however I would take it any day, (and I cringe at saying this) over hip hop/rap! Lesser of 2 evils I guess...
I had a discussion years ago about what you had to do to shock an audience, because it's all been done! Spitting blood, worshiping Satan, Christian rock, raw meat, big costumes, makeup of all sorts, mock killings, x rated shows, masks, throwing out bibles, burning bibles, killing animals, archery, guns, drugs and alcohol issues and other indecent criminal acts on and off the stage...I mean at this point you have to do a Daffy Duck...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lEYYY...eature=related
If it's all about pissing your parents off, I get it. If it's because you have artistic integrity and that's your thing, I get it. If it's a bout being the best musician/songwriter you can be, I don't get it at all...

Re: I may not make fans with this one
I think anyone confused over the evolution of extreme metal should maybe listen to carcass. Starting out asa grindcore band, quick punchy and very angry with little musical ideals and blossoming into incredable melodic death metal. The primary differance between black metal and death metal is that black metal was a scene that flourished in scandinavia due to resentments towards christinanity and how it was forced upon their nation. Death metal is generally a bit more tounge in cheek and to be honest is generally hard rock thats heavily drop tuned. There are some great guitarists in the death metal and grindcore scene like mike amott, billl steer, mitch harris and rob barrett. I do struggle with listening to black metal though due to its insistance in having poor production. Even in these realms there are a few guitarists who are very skilled, at the end of the day people talk about hetfields right hand and yet some of these guys would make his right hand seem a little lame. If its the whole choppiness thing thats an issue then dream theater who most of us would agree are possibly the most technical band on the planet are as guilty, and at that they occasionally tinker with death metal sections like in honor thy father. About the whole endorsement thing though, a manufacturer will always promote a player who is popular in a band thats successfull just to sell units, ladies and gentlemen i give you noodles and paull allender! FFS! It is though all a matter of taste and if its not for you, its not for you.
