I'm not sure what to think of this...
Should we be happy that the
JEM
is on the list or offended by some of the others that beat it?

Ovation Deacon/Breadwinner. I love those things, though I'm not terribly fond of their 'active' electronics (a first for Ovation back in '75 or so).

Oh, cool.
The head looked like an Ovation, but I wasn't sure.
I never knew Ovation was around that long! I thought they started out in the Early 80's.
I also never knew Active electronics are that old!

When in doubt, always be offended. It usually means at the very least you are on the right side of the law.

Supposedly the first
guitar
specifically designed with ergonomics foremost in mind. Not pretty though.
That list doesn't appear to be in any particular order though, otherwise the LP, Strat and Tele would be in 1st, 2nd and 3rd places (alphabetically, before anyone quibbles about the exact placing!) surely. They are the absolute classic electric guitars.
Considering the Jem is 'only' a superstrat, it's lucky to make it on to the list at all.

Have to disagree with you on the ugliness of the Ovation (not sure if my soft spot for themis in my heart or my head), but I agree on the Jem assessment. To be honest, I think a (graphic laden) Jackson Soloist would have been a better choice if only 1 superstrat were to make the list.

Why do you perceive that their "apparent" order (left to right, top to bottom) indicates their popularity or ranking?
