I do agree!! It's an acquired taste for sure, the dark stuff is certainly not to everyone's liking.

Ha! Ha! Yeah, but just adding blood is bad enough. Seems like there are still some savages on these shores!

When I'm in Ireland I stick to Harp or Smithwicks, but Harp gives you a killer hangover. You can feel it starting while you're still drinking, a lot like the Chimay Blue label. Smithwicks in any pub in Kilkenny is still the best way to go for me

Why is guiness so expensive in Dublin? I'm sure it's the same for Cork..5 euro is crazy...it's cheaper in Belgium! Had a great Irish stew...and the haircuts are very reasonable...as much as the beer ...LOL

A lot of people are of the opinion that the less distance Guinness has to travel the less the taste is impaired so if you're drinking it in Ireland then you are getting the best quality Guinness. Considering a lot of people here live on the stuff you'd think it would be the other way round with cheaper prices in Ireland than anywhere else.

Re: Irish Folks - Cork
€5 for a drink in Dublin isn't expensive, about average really... You ought to have tryed Green Spot Whiskey while you were here, beautiful Irish whiskey, can't get it anywhere else...
Did you get in to Crowley's in Cork? It's the shop where Rory Gallagher bought his Strat, still looks like it did then I'd say, nice shop though...
