Men + Action Movies = ????

What is it that attracts men to action movies?
It's not a stereotype that the action movie crowd is mostly men -- it's a FACT!! Why do you guys like them??

cause after we watch, lets say a kung fu movie, we come out thinking we can do crazy kung fu moves. the downside is that we learn later we dont know kung fu lol

i personally am not much a movie fan , action is cool and all sometimes but man there are only so many ways someone can get killed or beat the crap out of .

i love intellectual movies that make you think about the story line or people in the movie or if there is suppose to be symbolism with somthing going on currently .

Simply put.....

Guys relate to the hero....

and it makes them feel like a bad arse! (like they are the hero)

Same reason there is such a thing as "Chick Flicks". We have our thing, you have yours.

I like them because you dont really need to concentrate on watching them, as there is usually a very "simple" plot.

Then theres all the guns and explosions, and the cars, and the crazy kung fu guys, which are all awesome, duh

Then there are the actors that you cannot take seriously.

Well.....

Couple of things really.

Martial Arts are cool (and I'm finally back in training, it's been way too long). That's just a fact. Unlike most guys who watch Martial Arts movies though, I was for a time, quite capable of doing some of the more adventurous kicks, and some of the combo ideas work really well in sparring situations. So that's an added reason to watch something that's already mighty.

I also really, really like intelligent action flicks and sci-fi. I mean, James Bond. Now I know there have been some dreadful representations, but James stands for everything a man should be, intelligent, loyal, confident, resourceful, cunning, etc, etc. Fecker can't play guitar to save his life though Not only that, but I've also noticed the women in Bond movies tend to be real easy on the eyes too. Fo example, Sophie Marceau...



who played Electra King in The World Is Not Enough. Mighty eh?

And then on to Sci-Fi, which is the greatest genre of film ever. They range from the very, very good ones, which have great story lines, acting, the works, and then there are the very, very bad, like Total Recall. I really can't put how bad it is in words. And on top of that, I 've noticed that the women in Sci-Fi films tend to be real easy on the eyes, like Natalie Portman......



who played Padme in the last three Star Wars films, or Kate Beckinsale...
