Very true! But at least the Rangers were one of the original six. One out of two ain't bad.
And hell yeah I loved that game! Seeing the blueshirts come back after being down two to win it was great. And seeing Lundqvist stop Briere on that BS penalty shot was the icing on the cake.

Just pointing out that some of those O6 teams didn't do very much of anything when there were ONLY 5 other teams to beat, and they haven't exactly feasted on the dozens of new teams. The O6 was basically 3 good to great teams kicking the crap out of 3 bad teams for a few decades. I think hockey is a lot more interesting now than it was then, simply because there are more teams.

Anyway, Patty Elias' 1000th game in a Devils jersey is tonight, and the Panthers just signed John Madden. Should be fun

I agree with you to an extent - I think it would be more interesting if they moved some of the teams out of places where they draw 5,000 people to cities where people are more passionate about hockey...no disrespect to the fans in Columbus and Carolina, but it's hard to get excited about a Columbus vs Carolina game.

I'm looking forward to the Canucks vs Bruins game tomorrow morning - Stanley Cup rematch should be interesting...

I also agree on the O6 thing. As much as I detest the Flyers I'm glad they're around to actually have a good rivalry with. Same with the Devils and the Islanders.
Philly fans are something else, though. I could have sworn I heard booing when the Broadstreet Bullies were brought up during the classic. I know there were a lot of NY'ers there but... seriously!

That is horrible...idiots...they should ban people that do that for life from games...

Nice win for my Canucks against the Bruins today....lots of ugly stuff though...there was some good hockey once they actually started playing hockey...the Bruins play such dirty and ugly gutter hockey...that low hit by Marchand on Salo was so dirty...he better get suspended for that...the Bruins are tied for 1st in the league for most major penalties and 2nd in the NHL for PIM/G...the Bruins like to drag teams down into their style of hockey...ugly...

We play your Panthers next on Monday Mike - should be a good game with both teams playing pretty well this season
