Ok, I wasn't going to seem like I'm gloating but...
It was kind of sad to see Luongo come back to FL and flail. The Canucks defense could have done a bit better; they leaned on a lot of goonery and even a bit of diving in the third. Rather than clear the slot on that second goal the Canucks D served more as a screen, I think, keeping Luongo from seeing that second goal from coming in.

I missed the game - I hate those 4:30 PST start times

but I did see a few quick highlights and your team was the better team in that game... I'd be happy to give Luongo back to your team - maybe we could work out a trade ;o) I'm not a big Luongo fan...but he has been playing better lately...Panthers are still doing well and holding down top spot in the their division...weird that your Panthers are in the same division as Winnipeg...I now why it's like that but it's still weird...Winnipeg and Florida - sounds weird in the same sentence...the sunshine state vs the barren winter province...they need to change that - the division that is...although I bet the Jets players like to visit Florida...it's snowing and -16 C in Winnipeg today...;o)

I think we'll keep Theodore even if his knee isn't working for a little bit. Hopefully he'll be back soon. Cats are doing well but not against teams like the Devils and the Rangers. Hopefully Theodore coming back healthy helps that a little.
In terms of realignment I hear it will look something like this. Yeah, the Thrashers hangover is a bit funky. It's still equally weird when there's a home/away scenario with Toronto or Ottawa within a few days or weeks.

We do have a lot of Canadians down here though, especially this time of year. You may have noticed some Canucks jerseys in the stands. Funny how many Sens and Leafs fans are down here too when they visit. And Rangers and Flyers fans..... fehgetaboutit!!!

I wish I could come down there for a week or two this time of year...get a break from the wet cold winter months here...

The realignment looks ok to me but I heard the NHLPA pooped on it...and I'm not sure, cuz I haven't put a lot of thought to it, but it seems like teams in an 8 team division would be disadvantaged because they have one more team to compete with in the standings that in the divisions that only have 7 teams...I definitely like the idea of the Canucks staying in our time zone more often - fewer 4:30 start times ;o) I think the realignment is only a matter of when...

Your late starts are odd for us. Back in 1999-2001 I found myself watching so many west coast games I became a Kings fan. They'll probably face your Canucks or SJ again this year if they can keep their act together and say in playoff contention.

not sure what you mean...I see they lost to the Bruins...and they made a trade...that organization seems lost right now...they've made a mess and I don't think they know how to clean it up...

Cats lost to the Bruins last night in the shootout.
Still not sure how I feel about the shootout. Sometimes I think it's a good idea, other times I think it sucks.

that sucks - I hate the Bruins...sorry, I shouldn't 'hate' anything or anyone but I really can't stand that team...

I think the shootout sucks all the time...turns a team sport into a one-on-one gimmick..why don't they have a quick skills competition to see which team should win...it's almost the same thing....silliness... the very least they should do is increase the length of the overtime period...5 minutes is too short...

And 5 minutes is way too short. I suspect it was made 5 minutes to reduce the odds of injury though. I am kind of glad that it eliminates ties, though.

I understand the NHL wanting to do something about teams sitting back and playing for the single point if it's tied up...but there's gotta be a better way...maybe if the players knew that they'd have to play a full extra OT period they would try harder in the 3rd period...

I'm actually starting to like the idea of a mini skills competition as the tie breaker more than the shoot-out...lol... ;oD

Devs got Alexei Ponikarovsky from the 'Canes last night for a 4th rounder and the 12th guy down on our AHL D man depth chart

I think that gives us 6 left wings now lol

Oh yeah! Rangers beat the B's with 4 seconds left in overtime! Love it!
Also, I'm glad it didn't go to the shootout. I'm less and less happy with the OT format as time goes on.
