no doubt Jim - that really was a bonehead move by Weber - I hope he gets suspended...

Same with Byron "I hurt my team" Bitz who laid out a terrible dirty head shot into the glass on Kyle Clifford...LA got a 5 minute major and scored and that was a big difference in that game, which we ended up losing...I hope we don't see Byron "I hurt my team" Bitz again...if Shannahammer doesn't suspend him then I hope coach V leaves him out of the lineup for the rest of the playoffs...I'll call a spade when I see it whether it's on my team or not and that was a bonehead play and we paid for it - and I hope Bitz pays for it too...disappointing - theses guys should know better

Yeah, that was a strange game. Lots of dumb penalties on both sides. Who could stop that Jeff Carter phantom pass off his skate?!? And Quick getting knocked down on Vancouver's first. I honestly think they were harassing Quick a lot but no one could time that one well enough to call it intentional. The Kings also didn't clear well which resulted in that goal.
It's only one game but you got to admit that Mike Richards no-look goal off Luongo's feet was nice! He caught Louie sleeping. He tried the same thing again not long after but Lou knew to look for it.

Well, the Panthers looked like ass in the 1st. They came back and made it a game in the 2nd but it wasn't enough. That idiotic double minor highstick turned out to be fairly pivotal. What an absolutely awful call!
Oh well, off to play some guitar whilst watching the Kings vs Vancouver in game 2!

Holly Hanna! I just switched over to the Flyers Penguins game and it's a war!

You know, that's the rub right there. The intent to injure was there in spades. The ability to injure was completely absent

Flyers/Pens is absolutely amazing. The Pens WILL NOT BEAT the Flyers. At this point, even though it is super early, I'm liking the Flyers for the Cup and I hate the Flyers. Flyers could sweep here.

Devs won but not impressively. Loved the 1st, hated the 2nd, and the 3rd was a draw. Not good enough.

Not sure if the Caps have a shot on goal yet...you can't win if you don't shoot! Maybe Ovi should stayed in those CCM skates? And not for nothing, Niemi ani't all that. The Blues need to go glove high once in a while. They should have won that game by 4, easy.

Won by 4? Joke, when was the last time the Blues even put 4 up, let alone win by as many? I'll take ugly 1goal double OT victories all the way to the Cup thanks.

Good luck with that. If you think the Blues didn't thoroughly outplay the Sharks you were watching a different game than I was.

The Kings are looking a lot like the Flyers in their series. I have a neighbor with 5 Stanley Cup rings himself who thought this could be a Pens/Canucks final. I won't be surprised to see both teams ousted in the first round.

Maybe it's Mike Richards and Jeff Carter that helps them look a bit like the Flyers.

They're playing a good physical game but LA has to sustain it.
I was personally hoping John Madden would help the Cats look a bit more like the Devils but alas it wasn't to be. Maybe they should try to get Scott Gomez. LOL! (or not!)
Being a Ranger fan I really REALLY hate to say it.... but WOW the Flyers look good! Gotta call it like I see it.

those were the 2 teams I thought stood the best chance to get in the final and now it looks like they are in big trouble =o[

I just can't believe the intensity in EVERY game I've watched so far (and that's probably one game from every series). The NHL playoff just get better and better.

Overtime - check
Dirty hits - Check
Highlight reel goals - Check
Upsets - don't you know it!

Being in Canada, I suppose we're supposed to be cheering for the Canucks - but I can't do it. I didn't want them to win last year, and I don't want them to make it out of the first round this year. It seems they think they can cruise to the Stanley Cup final. I hate to say it - but I'm liking the Flyers in the East. In the West - who knows? All those teams have potential . . .

It is good stuff! No love for Ottawa, Colin? They beat my Rangers last night.
Looking forward to today's games. I think game 2 will paint a better picture of the Panthers if they are, in fact, capable of beating NJ or if they're just an "also ran" team. I hate to beat down on the hometown team like that but it is what it is. I'm proud of what they've done so far this year but if they fall short I hope management adds the one or two talented players they NEED rather than hock off the talented players they have for no-name bums, as they have in the past.
LAK vs VAN in Game 3 tonight as well!
