I'd love to see them move Luongo - I know Canucks fans have a reputation for trashing goalies but he's never really been that popular here...too hot and cold - plus he's thrown the team under the bus after a bad game one too many times...

I hate to say it but it might be time to move on from Luongo. From what I gather you can't win a cup without excellent goaltending. Excellent goaltending is also consistent goaltending. If they can't depend on him it might be time to trade.

Re: NHL '11-'12 BS thread
If Luongo is traded, it won't be to a team in the West. It'll be the East for sure, and no one has the cap space and need for a top tier goaltender more than the Leafs currently do and maybe the Lightning as well.

I was thinking that the Lightning would be a good fit because Lou could get back to Florida where his wife wants to be...but who would they give up to get him?

Oh, I don't know. Imagine, hypothetically, the Canucks with Tim Thomas in net. I'm not trying to pin it all on Louie, but I think they could be a different team without him. Better? Maybe. And who knows? It might also be a learning experience for Luongo.
This, of course, is imagining the best possible outcome.

I was more talking about Florida giving up there hopes by signing Luongo.
Tim Thomas could make any team better.

Ooooooh! Gotcha! I'm totally on board with this!
Yeah, send him to the Lightning.

Lecavalier and Luongo both have similar contracts. They could just do a swap.

C'mon, Jim! I got to savor the flavor just a little. Who knows if it'll happen again, right?
If the Devils don't snap out of it then the Cats will take this in 5. I don't recognize the team that's played so far, but they sure as shlt won't get past the Flyers if it comes to that playing the way they are. The Devils are too polite on the ice except for Clarkson. Also Volchenkov has played less than 12 minutes in both games and he's a top 3 defenseman, that means he's got a problem that 8 full days of rest couldn't fix. I'll be watching tonight (obviously) but really don't know what ro expect beyond the Panthers going right to the puck consistently and the Devils just 'setting up' just as consistently.

Don't go spending that 4th round pick until the trade is done

I don't think the Cats or the Devils can get past the Flyers. As a Rangers fan I'm worried. They look really bad a$$! If they can sweep the Penguins and sit and rest??? Frightening!

I hope Andrew Shaw learned his lesson. Next time grab Smith by the neck and smash his head into the glass. It's cheaper

My favorite soundbyte so far from the playoffs is Ken Hitch**** saying "don't open the Roman Polak door. You don't want to see what's in there." LMAO!
He's RIGHT!
Hitch****
ROTFLMAO!!!!!
Now that I think of it - yes elcid! You're absolutely correct. 3 games vs $2,500 is ridiculously inconsistent!

I thought the Sens outplayed the Rags last night, too. Flyers fans near me are worried about the Rangers, but I honestly can't see why. I hate the Flyers but they are a fun game to watch, no question. EVERYONE who like
hockey
should be watching Flyers-Pens, it's quality entertainment!

Halak gets hit on the head by a team mate and lands face down on the ice seemingly out of it. Blues medical staff don't want to take any chances - possible concusion means 15 minutes in the quiet room and a doctor's observation, so off the ice he goes and in comes the backup. No chances with the guy's health here.
Smith gets hit near the head by Shaw and lands face down on the ice seemingly out of it. Coyotes medical staff says something to him like "just pour some water on your head out of that Gatorade bottle and you'll be fine". Smith does and remains in the game. I have to assume he was either not badly hurt or not hurt at all. Sleep through the 1 hour practice the next day to CYA with the press, and you're golden.
Just sayin' that's how it looks from Jersey.
