I guess telling a young kid that can't afford a new Prestige to go buy one used is inapropriate content in a corporate site used to sell new guitars.

ANd that is fine. Their rules is their rules. But when banning someone for doing something they "interpret" as inappropriate, out of courtesy they need to inform that person that not only are they banned, but the reason they are banned. If only so that person can make sure they don't do it again.

I had NO CLUE what happened to me, or why. Still don't.

The only reason I can come up with as to WHY they do it this way is either.

A. They have no backbone to do such. Like a boss will have his 2nd in command do the firing instead of actually doing it himself.

B. The reason they banned me was lame, and they don't want anyone to "question their authority"

Anyone that has posted there that has "questioned" anything Jay13 does knows what I am talking about.

Esp when it comes to the way the forum is being run. Or it having tons of annoying bugs that they still havent been fixed.

Which of course would be no big deal if they were willing to admit the bugs existed in the first place and fixed them.

Re: So I've been posting over at Ibanez's forum..

Right, they don't want to HELP people unless it's helping them buy a new Ibanez.

Anything else is "innapropriate"

If you have legitimate complaints about Ibanez guitars, it's automatically "User error" or something you are doing wrong.

They give the same response when you have legit forum complaints.

I told Jay he had a chance to have a really cool forum there when the forum FIRST started. Or he could blow it and have people constantly make fun of it and not post.

He choose the latter.

It all started when they deleted the huge S series picture thread just because of a few posts.

And that thread was like 23 pages long. With TONS of information and time spent.

They offered no explaination about it either. I guess us customers don't deserve one.

I've NEVER been treated so poorly in a forum, and I have been to TONS.

I agree.

Deleting the S thread was pretty lame too. Never really found out why that happened. I assume there may have been a post or two that was "inappropriate", but to delete the entire thread. Gzzz.

Hey...it was fun while it lasted. Oh well, I guess it's just time to move on. Jemsite is better for the kind of stuff you like to discuss anyway, Kevin.

IMHO

More than likely the thread deletion was a screw-up, and no one wanted to say that.

Probably attempted to delete seperate posts like they constantly do, and deleted the thread instead.

Re: So I've been posting over at Ibanez's forum..

Naw, I am not like that. I'd rather see them simply admit the error in their ways, and turn that forum into something special.

But it wont happen. Too much insecurity on their side.

Ah heh,who says they aren't responsible for the way it's being run?

I have no idea. I HOPE Ibanez isn't behind it. And it's just some young kid with a ego problem.

Re: So I've been posting over at Ibanez's forum..

What's going on at OIF is rediculous, I've been following the threads you've posted and thier deletion for a couple of days, and I can honestly say, that thier attitude is appalling.

What's perhaps more allarming is that it's looking more and more probably that they deleted your posts becasue they could discourage people from buying new ibanez, and though I really want Jay13 to reply and just give you some form of answer, I have a feeling you'll get more blood from a stone.

I suspect Jay13 is following guidelines set out by ibanez, and quite frankly it wouldn't suprise me if it is indeed ibanez policy, from what I've seen, Ibanez has has a concerted shift from quality and inovation to profit margins in recent years, We all know the older guitars were not only cheaper, but better, dispite the lack of a "Free" case....

The only person on here aside from rick who could shed some light onto this is Tak, who I believe posts here from the L.A. custom shop..

Have you tried P.Ming him on here Ke^in?

Re: So I've been posting over at Ibanez's forum..

I knew about the forums for a while, but finally decided to check it out. I left promptly after reading about gio's having good tuning stability and fenders being POS guitars. The forum is made for Ibanez's current target customer base.
