"The Best Years of Your Life"?

So... About HIGH SCHOOL.... Were they REALLY the best years of YOUR life??

If so, how did you make them fun?
If not.. why not??

High school sure was a pretty damn good time, but I think college was a little better. Right around the middle of college. Those were some fun days.

Re: "The Best Years of Your Life"?

High school were SOME of the best years for me. Not so much what I did, it's just that you're only a teen once and it's naturally an exciting time (for most).

That said, the last five years have also been some of the best. My 20's were pretty damn fun too, and miserable, all at the same time. It's all in your perspective I guess. Your times are what you make of them.

Re: "The Best Years of Your Life"?

I can't imagine the best years of my life being when I was overweight, acne-riddled, immature, unable to drive (for part of it), unable to buy beer, couldn't see R-rated movies (for most of it), or not even able own property (which you technically cannot do until you're 18 ).

I can't imagine thinking that college was the best years, either. I think people who claim that a small block of years in the first 1/4th of their life is their highest point are gonna have a tough time after all that's gone.

Re: "The Best Years of Your Life"?

I'm in the last year of high school, and I know everyone says that they are the best days of your life, but I honestly don't think so. I've been bored thoughout the year for 11 years now and It's driving me crazy, I can't wait to get out!

High school was great. College is much better, however. The concept is basically the same though. Party party party guitar party.

I hated high school when i was in it, but in hind-sight it was great. Though, I'm loving college.

Re: "The Best Years of Your Life"?

Grammar School was boring beyond belief apart from the weekends when we all got together for house psrties. I didn't go to University as I wanted to get working and earn some money. 18 - 21 was ok but far to much drinking, gigging and generaly wasting time realy. When I met my now wife and moved to Manchester, that was a lot of fun.
I can honestly say that now at the age of 30, having moved back home and started a family that these are the best years of my life.

Early twenties were the best for me.(90 to 93) Old enough to drink legally. Some of the most colorful Jems ever created at that time and I had the good fortune to own many of them. Sleep all day, party and play guitar all night! Lots of fun!!

Re: "The Best Years of Your Life"?

University and the 2/3 years after I left was when I had the best time. It was basically pubs, guitars, gigs, jamming, booze, drugs, clubs, women, more booze, even more drugs and pretty much nothing else! Work was just a way for paying for it all!!!
Now I'm just a boring old fart!!!!

right, right. that's where my heads at now (I'm 37). all the wild times of my 20's seemed okay back then, but I don't really miss them. I was broke and had no real direction other than playing and partying. Still, there's some good memories in all those crazy years.

I gotta say from age 20 - 24 I lived in Japan and it was absolutely the best time of my life. I learned how to speak the language, knew how to do my job well and had great co-workers, everything was pretty carefree.
