What do British people eat?

I'm just curious. I know Italians like pasta, Germans like potatoes, Hispanics like rice, but I am clueless to what the British eat. I see there are lots of people from the UK here on this site so I figured this is a good place to ask.

Well the favorites used to be Roast Dinners with Yorkshire Puddings, or Fish and Chips with Mushy Peas, But apparently the National dish is now Chicken Tikka Masala.

lol What are "mushy peas"? Is it like split pea soup or something? And chips are french fries, no?

Bangers are potatos, I think.

A friend of mine went to England for week or so a long time ago. Apparently, people in the UK eat baked beans for breakfast along with toast and eggs, I think. Sounds very tasty!

Mushy peas are just green (garden) peas cooked until "mushy", nice with mint sauce along side Pork Pie, meat and potato pie, steak and kidney pie. (Basically any pie).

Chips are French Fries, usually thicker in UK though.

BTW, Bangers are Pork Sausages.

Bangers are sausages, or what chavs drive. (Chavs are probably a bit like 'trailer trash', or the 'scooter-scum' we have over here).

Baked beans, toast, eggs, rashers, hash-browns & pudding (black & white) is a great cure for a hangover. We keep it a secret because you yanks are fat enough as it is.

'Marmite' is a popular british savoury spread, made from shoe-polish and recycled tarmacadam.

Indeed.

And it's popular name is a "full english", or a "fry-up". It isn't the most healthy of meals I grant you, but you can't get much better. I thought everywhere knew about them, but obviously not! lol

A "cuppa" is a cup of tea for anyone who was confused.

When i worked construction, I knew a fella who used to put a big dollop of it into his tea every morning. Some guys over here put brown sauce (barbecue) into their tea
