what's up with these prices?


hey all

was in the market for a legacy recently,

and i noticed these prices

on e.b.a.y
150351827927

and on the carvin site
https://www.carvinworld.com/products...?product=VL100
which is the price i would have to pay if i bought from the export division of carvin

can someone please explain the huge price difference to me?


*both units are brand new*

The difference, from the US, is $50 bucks. So, the huge difference you see between the auction and direct is likely due to your being in Singapore, and little else. The one in the auction has brown "country western" tolex; maybe that simply isn't moving and they want to clear out stock? But as they state in the auction, the phone salesman gets commission on the $799 direct from Carvin price, but that commission doesn't exist on the auction sales - factor that commission out and the costs are basically the same to Carvin, as would be the profit margin.

i should've stated the price i was seeing

the price on the carvin site is 1920usd!!

Ah, well that changes it a bit, don't it? LOL I guess its because youa re in Singapore, but I don't know why it is so much more. When I follow your link it doesn't show me a price; I click add to cart and it adds it at $800. It must be your location.

I'd buy used
