Re: What's you daytime job?

I work as a Residential Treatment Specialist at a home for mentally and/or emotionally challenged children with At-Risk behaviors. It's not a nine-to-five, though. I work three days during the week from 3:00 pm to 11:00 pm and a sixteen hour shift all day on Sunday.
It takes a special kind of crazy to do this job, since there is potential risk to get punched and kicked and beat up, while making less than most people do. But dammit I love my job. And I have gotten beat up, for nine dollars an hour.

I work part time in an archive, although I prefer to work as a receptionist. But I'm not complaining.

Honestly, for all intents and purposes I should hate my job. But I don't, I love it. If it paid more, I could probably do it for the rest of my life. Some days (like today) I got paid a measly nine bucks an hour to get punched in the balls, have a little boy expose himself to me, and chase and extremely low-functioning boy out of the woods and across six acres. Other days, I'm surprised that they would pay me so much to sit around and play video games all day with a bunch of kids. It has its good and bad.

Re: What's you daytime job?

Id imagine the rewards are mainly the satisfaction of helping the unfortunate!! Still, its not everybodys cup of tea and most people wouldnt be able to cope with that kind of emotional and physical abuse you would recieve on a daily basis!!!
Can i ask how old you are dude?
Your job kinda reminds me of the movie 'whats eating gilbert grape'... is that a fair guess? Im guessing you dont look like johnny depp either!!!! LOL!!!
Either way mate, i admire what you do!! Horns high man!!!

I briefly worked with people with muscular dystrophy....(degenerative muscle disease) and it makes you thankful for the simple fact you can wipe your own butt...literally!!!!
Made some great friends and had really felt good with how i helped them......then my life changed, but thats another story in itself!!!!

Again mate, kudos

I love all radical sports(not that diving is radical) but my favorite is skydiving wich I'm an instructor too but I never worked as an instructor. And diving at night is really awesome.During the day you don't see the real colors,at night with a flashlight is when the sea shows its real vivid colors.
Oh and there's always that feeling of that shark from jaws would get out of the shadows and eats you bwahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

ta-tan ta-tan ta-tan (jaws theme LOL)
