Why did John P go to Musicman?

So why did he drop is deal with ibanez, ive never been told the story and am intersted to find out. Is it becasue ibanez wouldnt give him pezio pickup? Im just makeing guess's.

If ernie ball would make their headstock look less odd I'd probably get a 6 string one. Right now I think the 7 string ones balance out the headstock a little better. But overall I think Ibanez look better and its hard to judge feel, its really opinion

Petrucci wanted a piezo and a 7-string model.
Also, the Ibanez JPM was basically a JEM with different neck, pups and pups switch.
EBMM approached him saying "hey, apart from the headstock, we give you anything".
So he did it.

So it was Jem with none of the things that make it a Jem?

Basically its like a blender without the blades, motor, pitcher, or electrical cord.

anyways looking at the state of some of the ibanez signatures ie. herman li, noddles. im not surprised he left

IMVHO, John switched to EBMM under Steve Morse friendship big influence.
