Dave I need opinion on Guitar Rig.

Dave you mentioned that you have used guitar rig software. Can you give me some feed back on your experience using it for recording. I do not want to use it live. Also do you know of any software that can remove all but vocals in old recordings.

Guitar Rig is a fun program. Overall it sounds decent. I think the effects sound better than the amp and pedal modelling. It's not going to sound as good as real amps and effects, but for demos, playing/practicing at home, it's good.

I did use some FX from GR live for my solo spot on the 2005 Vai US tour, but most people couldn't hear them anyway.

GR 2 is out now.. I haven't tried it yet. Probably some cool add-ons/improvements.
