Dave, swinging your guitar round your neck???

Hello there!

I've gone through many a strap even a planet waves locking strap, and none of them manage to hold ever time when i do the swing. Roughly 50% of the time my guitars will come off the locks and plummet into the ground!

When we're playing live i cant possibly contemplate doing the swing if there is even a small chance it could fly off into the crowd for reasons of looking like an *******, we're not insured and i dont want to break a good instruement etc!

So how on earth do to perform the swing (for example, the one after the party tune- which i might add is a ripping tune!), knowing that your pride and joy will come back to them every time!

I just sooo badly wanna do it live for the cool factor

heres a video of how crap a planet waves strap lock is!

Dunlop Strap Locks - personally I don't like them, but they'll definately hold your guitar and strap together.

Get some Schaller strap locks. They're pretty rugged. I've never had the
courage to swing my guitars around but I doubt the Schallers would fail you.

I have always used DiMarzio clip lock straps. I've never had any sort of problem with them so I was confident it would work.

Good luck!

I have the Dunlops on my Les Paul, but that things too heavy to even lift over my head (straight Mahagony is way too intense). I have the DiMarzio's on my Strat it like Dave, it's never failed me.

I (think) they're the ones Yngwie uses, and if he uses them you know they're pretty damn indestructable.
