Dave Weiner Forum

Hey everyone.

Since the release of my cd, my website traffic has gone through the roof, sales have been astonishing and the reviews have been phenominal. Thank you very much to those of you who have purchased my cd so far. I truly appreciate your support.

I've also been getting many requests for a forum on my website. Unfortunately, my server isn't forum-friendly. And as I'm on tour right now, I don't have time to switch servers, etc. Fortunately, my good friend Glen (owner of Jemsite) has offered to set up a Dave Weiner Forum through this site. You'll be able to access it through a link in the "Players" section of the Jemsite Forum and also directly from my site www.daveweiner.com.

I look forward to chatting with you guys about my music, music in general, gear, and whatever you feel like discussing.

Thanks again!

Dave

Outstanding stuff!

Dave - any chance of you taking Paypal soon? It's quick, cheap, and if you had it up right now, I'd absolutely buy a copy.

(not that I'm not going to anyways, but Paypal makes everything online so much easier)

Take care and again - I absolutely love your playing!

Dave

Thanks for the after show passes at G3 London 2004, you are the best!!

I didn't manage to get to the tour bus to grab a S.T.S.A CD because my car was locked in Hyde Park and I had to find the police in order to get out.

Please consider what Ben & I were saying about playing Jemfest UK if your schedule allows.

Hi Dave!
I can't wait to see you at G3 show in Warsaw, Poland on tuesday!
I hope I'll be able to buy your album at the gig 'cause it's impossible to get in Poland and I'd love to listen to it!
See you soon!

hey dave saw you in brisbane last night. next time you come out you should let us shout you a corona or two. no groupie sort of crap just a beer and a chat

man you are obviously a great guitar player and i have to ask is steves stuff hard for you to learn and play opposed to your own stuff and how do you go through the leaning process does he show you or do you use transcriptions i ask this because i listened to the lamples of your songs (i had no maoney at the gig but will order it as soon as you give the word here that it is available internationally) and your guitar playing is nothing short of vais given your age. i think you are going to be something else when you have some more years under your belt and you are truly assisting one of the worlds best guitarists already (when you and tony are playing the solos in the songs off passion and warefare they sound just like the album) and i find when i play someone elses stuff (quite often when it is less technical to my stuff) i have a hard time playing it and you seem to nail vai riffs no problem

Hey Marduk.

Thanks for the review bro. Glad you enjoyed the show.

When I learn Steve's stuff, it's a combination of just learning by ear, reading music and then going in and polishing it up in rehearsals. It's difficult but we work through it. Lots of woodshedding to get it show-ready But that's what it's all about.

Hope that answers your question.

Take care.

Dave

hey Dave, thanks man yeah that answered my question sounds like your really earning your pay. I spend about an hour a day trying to work some of steves truff out by ear and it extrexely rare for me to get anything that sounds right. (i might have more luck soon i just put a new guitar on layby which has a whammy bar and a floating trem which are things my current guitar do not have) i find i figure out the notes a lot of the time but cant get the position right.

thankyou for answering my question i really appreciate it my old guitar is retiring as soon as i get this new one she is really old and was in pretty bad shape when i got her and now the repairs i had done are not holding up so she is going to be hung on the wall (her name is lucy) she has been signed by steve and billy and wont be signed again ever except for if i get the chance to let you scribble on her. hopefully at a DAVE WEINER show but hey if you come out with vai again you will see me in the same place (propped up in front of you) i am a huge vai fan but i found at the show i enjoyed you stuff on a different level because you are fresh to me and i truthfully believe you are the best thing that has happened to the vai band in a long time. hope to catch up with you next time all the best

ps i am getting my photos developed soon we didnt have a flash but we are gonna get the shop to try to save the pics if i get any good ones out of it i will send them to you if you want (my girlfriend was taking the pics though so im not sure exactly where she was pointing it but she said she got the whole band

A hello from Finland!

Hello there Dave!

It's been a while since I last took a look at your pages, and now you have a forum! I just had to register myself here.

All the luck to you and keep up the good work. STSA is a hidden gem, it should really be published through some big company.

BTW, when are you going to record some new music?
