Favored Nations

I'm not really sure why I waited this long to post about this, just been busy I guess.. and since it looks like people are starting to know anyway...

I signed a deal with Favored Nations. It's a licensing deal for them to distribute my cd "Shove The Sun Aside" worldwide.

It goes into stores March 22. Which stores? They're still working on that. Tower, Virgin, Barnes & Noble, Borders, etc are most likely. If you don't find it there, you'll still be able to order it through my site and also through Favored Nations site.

The difference between a licensing deal and a record deal? A record deal includes costs of actual recording, producer, engineer, mixing, mastering, manufacturing, etc. I do all that myself which works out great for me and FN (less to recoup). A licensing deal means FN slaps their logo on it and distributes it and keeps some of the profit. Just thought I'd explain that before the questions start rolling in.

I'll have more details and a thorough update on my site before the 22nd.

Dave

Re: Favored Nations

That's great Dave!
I'm sure it's gonna' sell even more copies now it'll be more widely available. It's great the way you've been doing it through your site but it's quite surprising how many people aren't in the position to buy online still. Now they'll be able to walk into their local record store and grab a copy!

It was the Astoria DVD that really made me aware of just how great a player you were in your own right(and a nice guy too!) and I think after you've finished the current tour there's gonna' be a whole lot more people who will be wanting to know more about you as a musician. It says a hell of a lot about you that you can play on the same stage as Vai and still get your playing noticed. You are one very lucky and immensely talented guy(hey, but I'm sure you already know that, lol).

I can't wait to hear the next album Dave (and the one after that...). I hope this FN deal works out really well for you 'cause you deserve the success that you've obviously worked so hard for.

All the Best Dave!..................................JTM45.

I was really tempted to buy your CD at the show in Birmingham Alabama, but 15$ is all I had on me. BTW I was the guy with the Yellow JEM777DY.

Hey!

Itīs going to take a while to get to Argentina, I can get it for you if you want, there are ways you can send me the $$$$ to pay me back.

Iīll put the managers of the music stores in double torture until they get the 2 cds as soon as the cd is relased.

BTW I live in Mexico, in a town thatīs just a 3 hours drive to Mc Allen, Texas, so if I canīt get those lazy managers to bring those cds soon I can go to Mc Allen or ask a friend that is going there to buy those babies for me.

BTW 2: Nice to see more girls posting! this place needs more estrogen!

A review is also in the debut edition of Australian Guitarist but they just reprinted the review from the British version of the mag (yes I'm that much of a guitar geek, I buy both).
