Going to attend at GIT

Hi Dave!!!!

Your playing is awesome...nica to see a guy who's playing some great guitar instead of just bad shred. There's way to much shred on the internet...
I got a question for you or to anyone whos attended or going to attend at Music Instititue.

I know you one where a stundent there. How was your time there? Anything you recommend to bring to the LA, since I'm from sweden it's pretty hard to go back and get something I've forgotten. Do you recommend the school? Is it possible to form a band at MI?

MI was great. I learned a ton of stuff and really got to hone my skills. All you need is a guitar and a metronome.

Good luck.

Re: Going to attend at GIT

Very cool.

I just signed up to start correspondence courses with Berklee Online. I start a music theory course next month, then move on to the "Guitar Skills" certificate classes. I plan to keep going beyond that, if the courses are fun to do and I get something out of it. I think they will be very worthwhile, and I welcome the challenge of having to pace myself and learn the material on my own as well as learn some things that have escaped me across the years... things like sight reading, a better understanding of chord construction, chord voicings, scales, further technique development, solo construction, and learning to more confidently navigate the guitar. It offers so much for so little, I find it worthwhile to give the whole idea a shot.

Have fun at GIT. I wish I lived close to one of the major music schools so I could attend the campus and get a better feel for what the place is like.
