has anyone heard daves party piece on guitar pro?

Hey guys, Just wondering whether anyones heard daves party piece on guitar pro. For those who dont know, Guitar pro is a multi-track, multi-instrument tabbing software you can download from guitar-pro.com. once you've got that, go to mysongbook.com and you can download all sorts of demo files from dream theater to vai and more which ppl have uploaded, as I said, daves party piece is there but its under vai.

Its the only way i can listen to it as i dont have the astoria dvd.

It took me a while to learn how to use guitar pro properly tho, its pretty good once you get the hang of it but I havn't used others to compare so I cant really say much but who can blame me, Im still an amature to this haven

I'm not Dave but I'd like to reply to your question seeing as you told me the name of this tune after I saw Steve in Australia and was so totally blown away by Party Piece.

Try a delay time of 380ms and play the notes with a fast attack and a quick release....I think the technical term is staccato. Also, a compressor will help in evening out the level of each of the notes and lastly, I'm sure you'll need an auto-swell controller with zero attack like the one I have in my POD but this is optional. The piece is too fast to use either your guitar's volume knob or a volume pedal and watching Dave, he certainly wasn't doing that either.

The GuitarPro version is a little better than the Powertab version which has been up for at least 2 months.

Yeah, the guitar pro one is okay. I used it as a guide more or less. I play it my own way. Same notes, different positions. I believe you will want to set the delay at 349ms though if you want to play along with Dave. I recorded myself playing this piece (even made a little video), and I had it set at 349, and it worked just fine up to speed.

Oops. The Delay should be set to 333ms. My bad.
