Ozzy looking for a guitarist y'all...

Seeing as this is a guitar-orientated community with a lot of top-notch players out there I though this would be relevant to post.

"Ozzy is looking for a guitar player to write his next studio album with. This is your big chance! All interested parties should send a package showcasing their guitar skills to:

Ozzy Osbourne Guitar Player
P.O. Box 5249
Beverly Hills, CA 90209"

I think theres more about it at Ozzy's official site if anyone's interested.

P.S Wish me luck, in just under an hours time I pick up my A' level results which determine whether I've got the grades to go to the University I want to study either "Computer Games Design" or "CGI and Animatronics"...nerdy or what lol.

Good luck, will you audition for Ozzy in case you don't make it? ;-)

Hehe thanks guys...I got my grades, an A' and two C's...I'm going to Uni ...if that doesn't work out I can always give Ozzy a call and see if he wants to hire a plucky (excuse the pun) young guitarist from his home town :P

Re: Ozzy looking for a guitarist y'all...

According to MTV.com, a representative at Zakk Wylde's management has rejected speculation that Ozzy Osbourne's working relationship with the guitarist has come to an end in the wake of Osbourne's announcement that he is looking for a guitarist to work with on his next studio effort. A posting on the Ozzy's web site is calling for "all interested parties" to send demos "showcasing their guitar skills" to a Beverly Hills, California, post-office box, but a spokesperson for Osbourne wouldn't reveal whether Ozzy's in need of a lead or rhythm guitarist, according to MTV.com. Stated Wylde's management: "Zakk will play with Ozzy until they are both in the grave."

So I guess Ozzy hasn't run out of beer money (Zakk's words ).

I think Ozzy should give Jake E. Lee a call. Though they had a weird relationship back in the day, they should give it another shot. I'd kill to see Jake E. Lee with him again.

Even if you could be.... would you really want to? LOL

Zakk's the man... I'd be pissed if Ozzy did his next album without him.

Re: Ozzy looking for a guitarist y'all...

Zakk is way overrated.
He s a great songwriter as evidened by the No Rest for the Wicked and No More Tears LPs but I'm just not that big a fan of his playing. His new BLS CD is okay too.
I actually wish Ozzy would pick a more unique guitarist who is not a Randy Rhoads wannabe. Jake E. Lee was quite unique, but he made Ozzy sound a bit like Dokken. I don't know how he would sound today.
I think he should go for a young gun again who can tear it up technically and can also play nice melodies.

Good Luck to Everyone Auditioning.

I have not touched my guitar in a while so i won't be sending anything in.

I know this is not a ZW love-in thread...................................but.

I love ZW, to be fair I listen to Ozzy because of the guitar playing. I think he is a fantastic guitar player, and has his own style and sound, that is different to Randy. He just plays alot of Randy stuff.

I would find it hard to imagine going to see Ozzy without ZW, even if Newsted is playing bass.

This doesn't mean that I don't want to audition though

Re: Ozzy looking for a guitarist y'all...

Zakk can play a number of styles and I think hes shunned more from lack of knowledge than anything. His playing is alot more advanced than he shows. He plays for the songs cause thats how ozzy wants it.
