Let see before I joined Vai's band...
I started out with my
Ibanez Roadstar 2 (which is pictured in my gear section) and a Gorilla 6" amp.
From there, I went to an RG550 and a Crate halfstack. I started getting various pedal effects and a few years later got a Digitech 2101. This was my set up for long time.
A few years later I got a Universe and a Jem. I actually moved out to LA to go to GIT with that Crate head, the 2101, a UV7BK, a Jem77FP and a stripped Jem777DY. When I got to LA I bought a
Mesa Recto 2x12.
When I joined Vai's band I told him I didn't have any real gear as far as an amp and fx, so he let me use a Legacy halfstack for the '99 Ultrazone tour. I also got an RG7620 for that tour.
It wasn't until about a year into being with Vai that I started getting new gear, endorsements, etc.
