Question for Dave about the Toekomstige Medley

First of all, I just want to tell you that you've been a huge inspiration for me guitar-playing wise and as a performer. I've seen you in concerts with Vai, own your CD, and looking forward to the DW Band tour, hopefully with a concert DVD.
I'm also really impressed and even astounded by how helpful your site is. Not only do you talk to your fans often amidst a busy schedule but you have a video for every tab you've done. Such effort should be commemorated. You've really improved my playing.

Your Toekomstige Medley was simply amazing, especially the acoustic part which im just guessing you have tuned to Drop D. Is there ANY WAY you can tab this Medley out for me or just even the acoustic part? PLEASE.
Also, im very interested in how you came up with this? Could you give some background to the song and how the song comes together music theory wise?

I hate to ask for much on the first post and i dont wanna seem like a jerk, but i really love that short but incredible piece of music you created.

Re: Question for Dave about the Toekomstige Medley

Thanks for the message. Glad you're enjoying the cd, the new tour solo and the site.

I'll try to get the medley tabbed out when I get a chance.

The tuning is an alt-tuning I've been messing around with for about a year. There's really no theoretical reasoning behind it. I don't really take theory into consideration when I write. I don't want those boundaries of "well if I'm playing this, then I have to play this". That's not what it's about. But theory def. helps in opening avenues of where to take your music. It's good to know, but also good to forget when you write. If you can undertsand that.
