quick question for dave


hey dave i see that you are/were using a digidesign 001 and the apogee converter (in your studio pic), why both?? and how? also did you use protools le?

Yes, to record STSA, I used a Digi 001. But the 001 was merely a dongle to make Protools run. The A/D converters and mic pre's in that kind of package are decent but not the best. So I put together a front end package that would suit my needs for recording for years and years to come. The conversion part of that package is the Apogee. From there, I went optically into the Digi pci card. So ultimately, I was bypassing the 001 and going straight into the computer with my own mic pre's, eq, compressor and converter.
