Dave, Boy I hear ya on the topic of singers. My band has been trying out singers for months. And it is so critical to get the right one. My buddy has a great band with very good musicianship and attitude, but the singer lacks the ability of being taken seriously. So the rest of the band suffers and has that aura of ...uh.....well....just being kind of lackluster no matter how well they play. I can sing, i can sing but it doesn't work that well when your playin' guitar at the same time. I personaly feel you need a dedicated frontman to get the crowd goin'.
Luckily, I just found my singer. WHOOOHOOOO!!!!! from Canada, Dave Wanless from (ex) Sven Gali. this guy already has a gold record under his belt. The search is over for me, but to get him we had to alter our set list a bit.
For you though, my vote would be for
Devin Townsend. HHHHMMMMM.....ya think? have you tried him ( I know you probably already have). Good luck bro! Lookin for singers sucks!
BTW, you guys blew me away at the gig in Buffalo, when you all sang vocal harmonies. I think I remember that the most out of the whole show. You should do it more often! Take care!
