hey dave i wnt to the vai show in brisbane australia last night and had a great time! you might remember me i was at the front on your side of the stage (right in front of you ) i am the one who was chanting your name when you were trying to get sound to your guitar before the show started. I had a great time man but i didnt get to meet you properly and that was a shame so maybe i can say hi to you here.
i wanted to thank you for letting me take a pick from your guitar and for letting me strum it at the end of the last song (i tried to keep the tempo u were playing before you turned it around but there was another guy pretty much just hitting the strings) but that was so cool (and without the pick i may not have found the site) i also got a really small white pick but i dont understand what the writing on it is it has a registered trademark on it and it is really small and .08 mill do you know if this would have been one of tony,s picks or does vai use more than the ones with his name on it
you were great last night man i have been a fan of yours since i got the astoria and g303 dvd's but unfortunately i didnt know of you before that.
i am listening to the clips of your cd (i didnt have any money to buy it at the show cause i get paid every 2 weeks and the gig landed on theoff week) but i want to buy it as soon as i can order it i love the clips have you got any more albums out and do you play with any other bands im really looking foward to being able to put your cd in my player at home.
i got to talk to billy and steve and they signed my guitar but i really wanted to meet you but the manager was not letting us past when you arrived. a few of us ran up the back for billy and tony but tony went straight inside so i missed him too. and steve came down to talk to us we were calling out telling him we werent allowed past.
hopefully i can meet you someday are you going to ever do a solo tour? that would be great. since i live in australia ive never been to g3 but i have the one with
eric johnson and the one with yngwie and you on dvd and i love it
i feel that i need to get you to sign my guitar some day because in all truth i enjoyed your input into the show just as much as steves and having steve and billy sign it but not you it just doesnt seem complete (this guitar has been with me a long time and the pickups and fretboard have been repaired too much so it needs to retire, but when i get a new one i ell never sell or let go of this one i made this decision when i wrote my album on it)
whats that electric mandolin like to play is the action good you seem to concentrate a lot more when you are playing it is this because it is harder to play or is it hard to hear through the foldbacks or any other reason (im probably imagining it)
i plan to be a regular poster here and if you could email me some time or even just answer some of my threads i would be very happy. ok ill leave it at that for now thank you so much for the show i really loved it and i will get your cd as soon as i can order it
if you would listen to my songs i would also appreciate that a lot they are at
http://www.soundclick.com/bands/4/bl...ingermusic.htm i understand you are probably really busy so there is no rush. couple of notes though the songs are improvised and made up on the spot and i tried to play faster than i am really capable of (i only just started to realise the importance of synchronising your hands and increasing the tempo very recently) so the articulation is bad and they are a bit messy but i still like them and they have been realeased by statue records on a non exclusive contract the song bliss was written for steve
p.s did you get a copy of timeoff magazing in brisbane they had a good interview with steve but they called you dave leaner and i thought that was an injustice. oh year and did you enjoy australia i hope you did it is a loveley peaceful place most of the time. ok thanks again man from marduk (your newest fan)
