but i still have to say the next g3 i want to see is with DAVE WEINER as the 3rd g and for one of the g3 jams at the end to be of S.T.S.A i recon that would be really cool
Gary assisted with his son to a G3 with Malmsteem and said that it was a **** and any of them played a "real note" so maybe he isn´t interested in joining the G3. Anyways it would be a great choice.

I was at the G3 in madrid and it was a G2 at the Jam. Audience would like to see a more competitive G at the Jam. For me Yngwie and Petrucci fitted OK that rol. Gilbert would have to be the next, but I´ve read that Vai and satch were looking for Van Halen.

VH would be mega cool, but Ed needs to get his sh*t together first and I mean really get it together.

I agree with some of you. Ed needs to update his playing.

What?!

My vote is still for Gary Hoey, but EVH would be killer, too. As far as getting his act together, I'm sure he could hold it together. After all, assuming it was an instrumental act, there'd be no front man to butt heads with all tour. So, no problem. Alex and Mike haven't seemed to be at odds with Ed. The question is would he do it? When I saw him in '04, I knew it might be the last chance to see Ed. I'd like another.

Yes, Robert Fripp was at the back of the stage and didn´t play at the jam. He only played a pentatonic in one song of four.

Re: Who would be a really cool 3rd G on the G3 Tour?

Al Di Meola
Michael Romeo
Shawn Lane (R.I.P.) It would have been cool to see him at it, but it's not possible now.
Steve Wilson
Marty Friedman/Jason Becker. The latter is not possible though, just wishful thinking.

I dunno, there's a bunch of them. I would prefer guitarists who can improv and write awesome stuff, not the fastest people out there.
